Funeral services for Dorothy Virginia Smith Sutton, of Brookhaven, are Saturday, July 13, 2019, at 2 p.m. at Mighty God M. B. Church, in Brookhaven, with burial to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Williams Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Friday, July 12, 2019, from 1 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Family hour is 7-8 p.m.

Mrs. Sutton, 70, died Thursday, July 4, 2019, in Fairburn, Georgia. She was born March 22, 1949, in Lincoln County, Mississippi, to Annisana Smith and Lucille Rice Smith.

She was a 1967 graduate of Eva Harris High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree at Chicago State University and a master’s degree at Jackson State University.

She retired from Enterprise School after 30 years of service with the Lincoln County School System.
