Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Virginia Bivens will be on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2019, at Bude Church of God in Bude, Mississippi, at 4 p.m., with burial to follow in the McCall Creek Church of God Cemetery in McCall Creek, Mississippi. Rev. Will Lott will be officiating the services, with Franklin Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Bude Church of God on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2019, from 3 p.m. until time of service at 4 p.m.

Mrs. Bivens, 91, of Monroe, Mississippi, passed from this life on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2019, at her residence in Monroe. She was born on April 15, 1928, in Lucien, Mississippi, to Mr. Adam H. Whittington and Mrs. Nancy Virginia Halford Whittington.   

Mrs. Bivens was a faithful member of The Bude Church of God.

She loved her Savior Jesus Christ. She loved her church, her family and all her friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Adam and Nancy Halford; husband, Robert H. Bivens; sisters, Maudie Gammill and Jean Gartman; and brothers, James Whittington and Timmie Whittington.

Those remaining to cherish her memories are daughter, Vickie Bivens; son, Bobby Bivens and wife Wanda of Meadville, Mississippi; brother Art Whittington of Smithdale, Mississippi; sisters Sarah Williams of Foley, Alabama, and Velma Posey and husband Lonnie of Alexandria, Louisiana; grandchildren, Lucas Bivens and wife Lauren of Tylertown, Mississippi, Hannah Wicker and husband Jason of Smithdale, Mississippi, Micah Bivens, Don Bivens and wife Eden of McCall Creek, Mississippi, Sam Bivens, Seth Bivens and Marianna Bivens; and great-grandchildren, Lyndsey Wicker Burns, Branden Wicker, Laney Wicker, Kiptyn Blackwell, Ana and Jack Bivens; along with a host of family and friends.
