The Lincoln County Circuit Clerk’s office will be open the next two Saturdays for absentee voting for the general election Nov. 5.

The office is open from 8 a.m. to noon this Saturday and again Nov. 2. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the week for absentee voting as well, said Circuit Clerk Dustin Bairfield.

People may vote absentee for several reasons, including if they will be out of town on election day, if they are temporarily or permanently disabled or if they are 65 or older, he said.

Mail ballots can be requested, but the law requires they be returned by mail only by Nov. 4. Mailed ballots cannot be returned in person at the office, Bairfield said.

Voters will choose a governor and candidates in other statewide, regional, legislative and county offices as well as a trustee for educational district 3 for the Lincoln County School District, which is a special election on the ballot.
