Funeral services for Willie Irene Applewhite will be Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2019, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Red Star Ward on Mormon Trail, in Wesson, Mississippi, at 1 p.m. with burial to follow in the Red Star Cemetery. Bishop Randall Sones will preside over the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be from noon until 1 p.m. at the church Oct. 30, 2019.

Mrs. Applewhite passed from this life on Oct. 24, 2019, at Haven Hall Nursing Center. She was born on in Taylorsville, Mississippi, on Nov. 26, 1926, to Walter Lewis Duff and Vera Olivia Walker Duff of Columbia, MS. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, and sewing and working in her yard. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, William “Billy” Lea Applewhite and son Dannie Dean Applewhite; brother, Walter Leonard Duff; and sisters, Aurelia Sue Kimble and Winnie Mae Edgar.

Survivors are her son, Ronnie D. Applewhite (Charlene); daughter, Marlene Hollowell (Ricky); grandchildren, Lori Busick (Brett), Lindsey Isgett (Jeff), Leslie Posey (Clay), Joseph Applewhite (Heidi) and Joshua Applewhite; great grandchildren, Kyndall Olivia Isgett, Laurie Isgett, Nicholas Isgett, Kennedy Posey, Grayson Posey, Emma Posey, Landon Posey, Alli Applewhite and Joe Joe Applewhite.

Pallbearers are Joseph Applewhite, Joshua Applewhite, Jeff Isgett, Clay Posey, Ricky Hollowell and Brett Busick. Honorary pallbearers are Nicholas Isgett, Grayson Posey, Landon Posey and Joe Joe Applewhite.
