Iris Whitehead, 72, passed away on Feb. 13, 2020, at Merit Health Central, Jackson, Mississippi. Visitation will be Monday, Feb. 17, 2020, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram, Mississippi, from 9 a.m. until the service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Easthaven Cemetery in Brookhaven, Mississippi.

Mrs. Whitehead was born to Ira Laird and Ruby Allen Laird in Brookhaven, on June 23, 1947. She was a resident of Byram for 15 years and was employed with Barfield and Associates as a legal secretary.

She is survived by her son, Kevin Whitehead of Richland, Mississippi; daughter, Heather Whitehead of Florence, Mississippi; sister, Theresa McCaffrey of McComb, Mississippi; and six grandchildren, Adriana, Dylan, Haley and Fiona Whitehead, and Jackson and Mary Elizabeth Coumbe.
