Funeral services for Mrs. Virginia Richardson Rushing will be on Saturday, March 21, 2020, at Johnson Grove Church of Christ in Brookhaven, MS, at 11:00 AM with burial to follow in the Johnson Grove Cemetery. Bro. Doug Kimble will officiate the services. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Friday, March 20, 2020, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Saturday morning at Johnson Grove Church of Christ from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.

Mrs. Rushing, 78, of Brookhaven, MS, passed from this life on Monday, March 16, 2020, at home with her loving family by her side.  She was born on February 28, 1942, in Brookhaven, MS, to Howard and Gladys Pepper Richardson. She was a member of Johnson Grove Church of Christ; worked for many years as a seamstress at Stahl Urban; and enjoyed reading, gardening and hanging out with friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Oscar H. Rushing; and her daughter, Valerie Gail Rushing.

Survivors are her children, Veronica Edmonds and Bryan Rushing; and grandchildren, Justin Ryan Smith, Brandon Evan Rushing, and Austin Tanner Edmonds; great-granddaughter, Graelyn Isabella Rushing; her siblings, Jeanette Travis, Clyde Richardson and wife Peggy, and Rebecca Richardson Owens and husband Tony; and a host of family and friends.
