Robert ‘Boots’ Lee Ivy

Graveside services for Mr. Robert “Boots” Lee Ivy will be on Saturday, April 18, 2020, at Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Nola, MS, at 11:00 AM. Bro. David Fortenberry and Bro. Joey Beeson will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Ivy, 91, of Sontag, MS, passed from this life on Tuesday, April 14, 2020.  He was born on March 25, 1929, in Nola, MS, to Prentiss Ivy and Ruth White Ivy. He attended Church of the Way; worked for many years as a purchasing agent for Stuart Irby; and enjoyed cutting grass with his zero turn lawn mower and playing the piano. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Mary Cross Ivy; his sons, Lance Ivy and Philip Ivy; his son-in-law, Joey Waldrop; his brother-in-law and best friend, Earnest Cross; his brothers, Hugh Ivy, Prentiss Ivy Jr., Wayne Ivy, Donald Ivy, and Donivan Ivy; his sisters, Nola Alice Rutledge, Marie Terry, and Kathleen Keyes; and great-grandson, Trey Jiles.

Survivors are his daughter, Karen Brooks and husband Billy; his sister, Sarah Beeson and husband Joe Pat; his grandchildren, Lance Waldrop, Laura D’Mello (Nate), Shanan Smith, Nathan Ivy, and Fallon Brooks;  great-grandchildren, Preston Smith, Abigail Smith, Alexis Smith, Seth D’Mello, Logan D’Mello, and Lila Rasberry; his sister-in-law, Dana Cross; his daughter-in-law, Michelle Ivy; and a host of family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Church of the Way Building Fund, P.O. Box 3957, Brookhaven, MS 39603.
