COVID-19 Update: 14 new cases, no new deaths in county

Since Thursday, there have been an additional 14 cases of COVID-19 reported in Lincoln County, bringing the total to 109. There have been no additional deaths reported, so the total number of recorded deaths remains at six.

Statewide, there have been 4,716 cases reported by the Mississippi State Department of Health as of 6 p.m. Monday. That’s an additional 923 cases from Thursday. There have been 43 new deaths state-wide, bringing the total to 183.

MSDH continues to provide testing free of charge to people who they determine to be at high risk for COVID-19. As of Monday, there have been 52,364 tests run in Mississippi. The MSDH has provided 10,825 of those tests. Those receiving testing through the MSDH must complete pre-screening through a smartphone app or by phone. KDMC is still offering screening from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. seven days a week for people age 12 and up. They have administered 511 tests as of Monday, 73 of which have been returned positive. KDMC asks everyone to call 601-835-9455 before visiting. The screening site can be found by following the signs on Brookman Drive behind the hospital.
