At Nena Smith’s School of Dance, students in the fifth grade and up elect class captains by popular vote. These captains work with the NSSD staff on organization and getting out information, making contacts and seeing that their dance team/class runs smoothly.

Following this year’s 45th anniversary theme, “Thank you for being a friend,” these student leaders are dressed to celebrate.

The student leadership team consists of the following:

Erin Buckley of Crystal Springs is captain of the Fellowship of Christian Dancers/Fruit of the Spirit Team. Buckley is a senior at Copiah Academy.

Emily Covington of Wesson is captain of Fellowship of Christian Dancers/Salt and Light Team. Covington is a junior at Wesson High School.

KaDazia Brown of Wesson is Senior Class captain. Brown is a senior at Wesson High School.

Caitlyn Burns of Wesson is captain of the Sophomore/Junior Class. Burns is a junior at Brookhaven Academy.

Taylor Papizan of Wesson is Freshman Class captain. Papizan is a freshman at Wesson High School.

Corley Sandifer of Wesson is captain of the seventh and eighth grade Tri-County Class. Sandifer is an eighth grade student at Wesson Attendance Center.

Mary Margaret Woods is captain of the fifth and sixth grade Wesson Attendance Center Class. Woods is a sixth grade student at Wesson Attendance Center.

Allie Beeson of Brookhaven is captain of the fifth and sixth grade Tri-County Class. Beeson is a sixth grade student at Lipsey Middle School.
