Betty Joan Blaise Strawbridge, 81, went home to be with Jesus on August, 31, 2020. She passed away at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven, Ms.
An intimate memorial service for immediate family will be held at Rosehill Cemetery on Friday, September 4, 2020 at 10:00 a.m., with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Bro. Lance Moak will lead the memorial service.
Betty was raised in Brookhaven by her parents, Ernest and Lou Vella Blaise. Being the baby of the family, she was spoiled by her siblings: Elise, Ernest, Birdie and Robert Earl Blaise.
The U.S. Navy sent Betty and her sweetheart of 43 years, Bill Strawbridge, on many adventures to various places, including Hawaii. Even after her travels, she always thought of her hometown of Brookhaven, as the sweetest place on Earth. Some of her greatest memories included her time twirling baton as a B.H.S. majorette. Some may remember her as a hairdresser at The Betty-Lou. Other interests of hers included: painting, flower gardening, baking, reading and constantly rearranging furniture.
Betty will be remembered for being quick-witted, full of southern charm and sass, and for her amazing meals that she loved preparing for her family and friends. She devoted herself to caring for her family and also for taking care of her mother, Lou Vella Blaise, during her final years.
She is preceded in death by the love of her life, Bill; her parents; and sister, Elise Blaise Kuhn. Survivors include her children, Rick Strawbridge and wife, Dianne; Jody Strawbridge and husband, Brian; Andy Strawbridge and wife, Kim; and Amy Clark; along with a host of other family and friends.
