Catherine Pace Dickey

Catherine Dickey passed from this life on September 5, 2020, and is now “… absent from the body and present with the Lord.” She was 95 years of age.

Mary Catherine Pace Dickey was born Feb. 22, 1925, in Sumrall, MS, the daughter of Hilliard Druin Pace and Martha Hatten Pace. She was a 1943 graduate of Brookhaven High School and in her working career was employed at Stahl-Urban Manufacturing, Mississippi Power and Light Company and Entergy Corporation. Following her retirement she was active in her community as a King’s Daughters Medical Center volunteer, an ambassador for the Brookhaven Chamber of Commerce, a recipient of the Brookhaven Exchange Club Golden Deeds Award, a member of the Mississippi Regional Housing Authority Commission and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church Brookhaven. She was a loving member of First Baptist Church Brookhaven. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, a friend to many and cheerfully served the Lord during her life.

She is survived by her son: Dr. Danny Dickey (Betty) of Tupelo, MS; three grandchildren: Alison Schmelzer (Jody) of Oxford, MS, Dr. Drew Dickey (Erin) of Cape Girardeau, MO, and Adrian Dickey (Kathryn) of Nashville, TN; and seven great-grandchildren: Callie Grace, Carson, Caty and Caroline Schmelzer, Ella Kate, Peyton and Winslow Dickey. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Hugh Vernon Dickey.

Brookhaven Funeral Home of Brookhaven, MS (894 Natchez Drive) will be in charge of funeral arrangements. Graveside funeral services for family and friends will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at 11 a.m. at the Easthaven Cemetery in Brookhaven.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of the Aspen and Silver Cross Health and Rehab of Brookhaven, MS, and the Sanctuary Hospice House of Tupelo, MS, for their care.
