Lincoln County School Board hears COVID-19 update from superintendent

The Lincoln County School Board was recently presented with an update regarding COVID-19 in its schools.

On Thursday, the Lincoln County School Board met at the district’s central office and heard an update from Superintendent David Martin regarding COVID-19 statistics for the county schools.

As of Thursday, Martin said there were 18 positive students in the district, along with 72 students who were exposed. Overall, the district has 3,126 students and faculty.

Each total equals less than 1% of the district’s total population.

Martin said that out of the students who have been considered exposed to the virus, only two had come back positive during the 2020-2021 school year.

“We’re running way better than average,” Martin said. “They’re doing a great job on our campuses keeping numbers down.”
