Town of Monticello receives $18K from GP
The Town of Monticello recently received an $18,000 donation from Georgia-Pacific Monticello for its parks and recreation program.
The funds were used to construct permanent bleachers, install batting cage turf and field fencing, and purchase equipment for Dixie Youth Baseball and softball players.
“The Town of Monticello and the parks and recreation program are thrilled to receive this gift from Georgia-Pacific,” Monticello Mayor Martha Watts said. “With the support of Georgia-Pacific, our parks and recreation department has made great strides in continuing to improve our recreation program and facilities, serving the youth of Lawrence County.”
