MBI recovers 4 human trafficking victims, arrests 2 suspects
Four human trafficking victims have been recovered and two suspects have been arrested after an undercover operation by the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation.
On Thursday, March 4, MBI conducted the investigation in Lauderdale County, which resulted in the arrest of James T. Boylan, 43, and Guy Hammonds, 52. Both have been charged with human trafficking.
“The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation will continue to plan and execute operations aimed at identifying human trafficking victims and separating them from their perpetrators,” said MBI Director Lt. Col. Lee Morrison. “This collaborative effort of state agencies and local departments ensures the success of our mission regarding human trafficking.”
MBI was assisted in the operation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol, Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, Mississippi Office of Homeland Security, Mississippi Attorney General’s Office, Mississippi National Guard Counter-Drug Task Force and the Pearl Police Department.
“If you suspect someone is a victim of human trafficking, please call the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 1-888-373-7888,” said MBI/MHP Public Affairs Officer Major Johnny Poulos.
