Mississippi COVID deaths reach 7,000

COVID-19 related deaths reached 7,000 Saturday for Mississippi.
Two deaths were reported — one each in Jackson and Newton counties — bringing the total up to the new fatality milestone.
Mississippi State Department of Health also recorded 210 new positive cases of the coronavirus as of 3 p.m. Friday, raising the statewide total to 304,420.
Lincoln County has had 106 fatal cases of the virus and 3,835 positive test results.
As of March 22, MSDH presumes 290,537 people have recovered. New totals are published for presumed recoveries weekly.
