The 2021 Krewe of Ceres Charity Ball will be April 10. Here are this year’s maids.
Ainsley Grace Allen
Ainsley Grace Allen is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kent Allen. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gilmon VanDan and Mr. Danny Allen and the late Mrs. Voncile Allen.
Ainsley is a 2019 honors graduate from Brookhaven Academy. She was included in the all-A honor roll, National Honor Society and Mississippi Scholars. She was member of the varsity cheer and soccer teams. She was a member of the Junior Auxiliary Crown Club and enjoyed volunteering in her community. She was a UCA All-American Cheerleader, Brookhaven Academy Homecoming Queen, Most School Spirit, Most Outstanding, Class Favorite and Hall of Fame.
Ainsley is currently a sophomore at Copiah-Lincoln Community College. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa honor society, Trailblazers and cheerleading team. She has been on the President’s and Vice President’s list every semester. Ainsley was elected by her peers as a sophomore maid on the homecoming court. Her plans are to major in Radiology and further her career as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer. Ainsley attends Easthaven Baptist Church in Brookhaven.
Hannah Ashleigh Arnold
Hannah Ashleigh Arnold is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Steele Arnold III. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Judith Swetland Arnold and the late Mr. Frank Steele Arnold Jr., and Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Kemp Lawson.
Hannah is a 2019 special honors graduate of the Mississippi School of the Arts. She was on the all-A honor roll, a Mississippi scholar and a member of the National Honor Society and National Beta Club. Hannah participated in band and soccer at Brookhaven High School and was a member of the Junior Auxiliary Crown Club. At the School of the Arts, she participated in Artoberfest as well as the Orchestra Club. Hannah received several art awards including a Scholastic Gold Key for painting, which was displayed at the Mississippi Museum of Art. Hannah also received third place in the Congressional Art Competition.
Hannah is currently a sophomore at Mississippi State University majoring in architecture. Before attending Mississippi State, Hannah attended the University of Southern Mississippi where she was on the Dean’s List and President’s List. Hannah had the privilege of working as a camp counselor and lifeguard at Strong River Camp and Farm in the summer of 2020. Hannah’s brother Sam served as a trainbearer to the court. Hannah attends First Baptist Church.
Emily Grace Boutwell
Emily Grace Boutwell is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Boutwell. She is the granddaughter of Joyce Collins, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Gary Seale Boutwell Sr.
Emily Grace is a 2019 graduate of Brookhaven High School. She was included in the A/B Honor Roll, National Honor Society and Mississippi Scholars. She was also involved in multiple shows at the Brookhaven Little Theatre. Emily Grace enjoyed academics, but her interests were mostly outside of school. You could most likely find her doing theatre, playing tennis, practicing piano, fostering relationships or looking for an adventure.
Emily Grace is currently a sophomore at Mississippi College majoring in international studies with a double minor in T-Saw and Theatre. She was included on the dean’s list this past semester. She is a member of the Alpha Psi Omega Theatre Society, and Swannanoa Social Tribe. Through her tribe she volunteers at “We Will Go,” a Christian ministry in downtown Jackson. She attends Fondren Church in Jackson MS on Wednesdays, and on Sundays she attends Chinese Christian Church in Ridgeland. This summer Emily Grace will be living in Gastonia, North Carolina, to be a part of The Great Commission Team. The Great Commission Team is made up of 19 college students who are trained to evangelize all summer.
Anna Alysa Floyd
Anna Alysa Floyd is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Floyd III. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Joan Floyd, the late Mr. John Floyd Jr., and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Wesley Caraway.
Aly is a 2019 honor graduate of Loyd Star Attendance Center where she placed 4th in her class ranking. She received awards for A honor roll, Mississippi Scholars, and citizenship. Aly was involved in the Senior Beta Club, Teenage Republicans, Student Council, FCA, and played for the Lady Hornet Fastpitch team where she received numerous athletic awards.
Aly is currently a sophomore attending the Mississippi University for Women. She is studying to earn her bachelor’s degree in English with a concentration in creative writing. She will continue her studies to earn a master’s degree in teaching. Aly has received the Presidential Award from the university for the past two years. She also recently participated in the Miss Hospitality program where she received numerous scholarship awards. She is actively involved in the MUW Wesley Foundation, where she serves on the ministry team as an outreach coordinator. Aly attends Macedonia Baptist Church.
Megan Lynsey Gerald
Megan Lynsey Gerald is the daughter of Mr. Clint Gerald and Ms. Karla Gerald. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kennon Adams and the late Karen Adams, and Ms. Sandra Gerald and the late Mr. Charles Gerald.
She is a 2019 honors graduate of West Lincoln Attendance Center. She was included in the all-A honor roll, Jr. and Senior Beta, Student Council, and a Mississippi Scholar. She was Senior Beta Vice President, Homecoming Queen, Two-Time Bill-Buckner FCA Leadership Award, most school spirit and most athletic her senior year. She was also captain of the varsity basketball team and chosen as Two-Time District MVP and the All-State Team.
Megan is currently a sophomore at the University of Southern Mississippi where she is majoring in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. She is a President’s List Scholar and a member of the Beta Sigma Chapter of Kappa Delta Sorority. She attends Easthaven Baptist Church and actively serves at Venture Church of Hattiesburg where she is a part of House Church, Hospitality Teams, and College & Student Ministries. Upon graduation, she hopes to later pursue a degree in ministry.
Mardie Elizabeth Henning
Mardie Elizabeth Henning is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Henning. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Rounsaville and the late Mr. and Mrs. Les Henning.
Mardie is a 2019 honor graduate of Brookhaven Academy. She was a National Honor Society member, an Honor Roll student, and a Mississippi Scholar. She was a member of the varsity cheerleading squad, the Annual staff and Diamond Girls. Throughout high school she earned over 100 hours of community service.
In high school, Mardie was elected as Junior Homecoming Maid, voted Most Courteous and Class Favorite. She also won Best Character Portrayal in the Book Fair, placed third in the State Science Fair and was chosen as Youth of the Month by the Exchange Club of Brookhaven. She was a member of the Positive Choice Club, Science Club and Teenage Young Republicans. She received the Dave C. Swalm Scholarship and the Jansen Wright Memorial Scholarship.
Mardie is currently sophomore at Mississippi State University majoring in health administration. She is a member of the Kappa Delta Chapter of Phi Mu Sorority. Mardie’s mother, Nikki, served as a maid in the court. Mardie attends First Baptist Church.
Kathryn Elizabeth Legg
Kathryn Elizabeth Legg, also known as Kate, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Andrew Legg. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Smith Legg and Mr. and Mrs. David Allen Farnham Sr.
She is a 2019 graduate of Brookhaven High School. Kate received numerous awards and participated in several clubs and organizations ranging from Mississippi Scholar to National Honor Society Member to Best Dressed and High School Beauty. She also served as the Vice President for Crown Club, a member of Les Belles, and numerous other projects through the Chamber of Commerce.
As a sophomore pursuing a degree in Integrated Marketing Communications at The University of Mississippi, Kate has been recognized as a Dean’s Honor Roll recipient and maintains a cumulative grade point average of 3.8. A member of the Chi Chapter of Delta Delta Delta, she has donated her time to various charities such as St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, RebelTHON, and CASA for Children. She attends Pine Lake Church in Oxford.
Maley Marie Moak
Maley Marie Moak is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Pete Moak. She is the granddaughter of Mr. & Mrs. Connley D. Moak, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Dee Smith and the late Edward Mickey Thornton.
Maley is a 2019 special honors graduate of Brookhaven High School. She was a Mississippi Scholar and member of the National Honor Society. She was a recipient of the freshman academic excellence scholarship, Colvard Future Leader scholarship, Hach Scientific Foundation scholarship and the Old Main Scholarship.
She’s currently a sophomore at Mississippi State majoring in communications with a communication studies concentration. She’s a member of the Chi Omega Phi Delta Chapter, a member of the Mississippi State All- Girl Cheer team, and on the President’s list. In Chi Omega she serves on the diversity, equity and inclusion committee. She is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholar.
She’s attends Pinelake Church in Starkville where she serves on the leadership team of college ministry. She also serves on the Fellowship of Christian Athletes’ leadership team as the Spirit squads representative. Her future plans include pursuing a career ministry and traveling for missions.
Leigh-Taylor Grace Smith
Leigh-Taylor Grace Smith is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Shane Smith. She is the grand-daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ruben Johnson, and Mr. Sammy and Linda Kay Smith. Leigh-Taylor is a 2019 Honor Graduate of Loyd Star High School. While at Loyd Star. She was a varsity cheerleader and was recognized for Best Jumps, Best Dance and Best All-Around. She was a member of FCA and the Teenage Republicans. She served on the Homecoming Court, was selected as a school beauty, a class favorite and was a Les Belles De L’Hospitalite. She was awarded the Presidential Volunteer Award for over 100 hours of community service.
Leigh-Taylor attended Copiah Lincoln Community College and continues her education at the Aveda Institute of the Arts. She is a member of the Associated Skin Care Professionals and the American Academy of Facial Esthetics. She plans to continue her education with a Master Medical Aesthetic license and pursue National Board Certification. She attends Harmony Baptist Church.
Katherine LeJeune Wallace
Katherine LeJeune Wallace is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Blake Wallace. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Phyllis Wallace and the late Mr. Don Wallace and Mrs. Millie Owens and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Owens Sr. Katherine is a 2019 graduate and valedictorian of Brookhaven High School. She was the recipient of the Paul Moyer Cup and the Class Honor Cup among other honors. Katherine was member of the soccer and softball teams and was also president of both the National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She also served our community through Junior Axillary Crown Club. The Mississippi High School Athletic Association awarded Katherine the Lindy Callahan Scholar Athlete Award.
Katherine is currently a sophomore at Jones College in Ellisville majoring in mathematics. A member of the Honors College and Phi Theta Kappa, she also serves as softball team captain and is active in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Katherine was named a Tullos Scholar, the highest honor bestowed upon Jones students. Katherine plans to continue her education at Mississippi State University in the fall of 2021 after making time this summer for her latest hobby — vegetable gardening. Katherine attends Heucks Retreat Baptist Church.
