The Lincoln County School District is launching a summer welding pilot program for high school students.

The coursework and certifications will be conducted through The Certified Welding & Testing Company, a member of the North American Welding Group.

The summer program will be open to rising juniors and seniors at West Lincoln, Loyd Star, Enterprise and Bogue Chitto.

Students chosen to participate in the program will meet every Tuesday and Thursday in June and July from 8 a.m. until noon in the Loyd Star Agriculture Industrial Arts building.

The program will be considered an extracurricular activity.
