The Exchange Club of Brookhaven recently named Joy Smith of Alexander Junior High School as October Youth of the Month. Smith is an honor roll student involved in cheering at Mississippi Spirit prior to the pandemic. She enjoys gymnastics, crafting and reading. Her teachers say she pushes herself to do her best daily and she is willing to help her fellow classmates. Smith is the daughter of Anitra Smith.
