Brookhaven native Gloria Strauthers, owner of Exodus Management and Consulting LLC in Georgia, was recently named to the National Small Business Association Leadership Council.

NSBA is the nation’s oldest small-business advocacy organization and operates on a staunchly nonpartisan basis. Strauthers, a recognized leader in the small business community, joins the council alongside others as they work to promote the interests of small businesses to policymakers in Washington, D.C.

“As a small business owner, I see the daily importance of being involved and active when it comes to laws and regulations,” Strauthers said. “Joining NSBA’s Leadership Council will enable me to take our collective small business message to the people that need to hear it most — Congress.”

Strauthers is CEO of Exodus and a multi-industry credentialed professional who gives back to her community as a Certified SCORE mentor who advises small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs in business growth and development. Exodus offers solutions to improve internal systems and processes to ensure organizational capacity building.

She joined the council as part of her efforts to tackle critical issues facing small businesses, including tax reform, regulatory restraint, health care costs and how the Affordable Care Act will impact small businesses.

The daughter of Daniel Wesley of Brookhaven ad Phyllis Wesley Lofton of New Orleans, Strauthers is a 1994 honors graduate of Brookhaven High School and an alum of The University of Southern Mississippi, Tougaloo College and The Community College of the Air Force.
