The Brookhaven Animal Rescue League set March 4-5 for its Deeply Discounted Dress Fundraiser.

The unique fundraiser will feature formal dresses and other formal clothing, purses and jewelry. Dress prices will range from $10 to $50.

The event will be 3-5:30 p.m. Friday, March 4, and 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Saturday, March 5, next door to Brookway Wine and Spirits, 914 Brookway Blvd.

“Many of the dresses are new or have only been worn one time. We already have over 200 dresses and are still accepting donations. We also have over 500 pieces of jewelry, in addition to purses and other items,” said BARL president Rusty Adcock.  

BARL is still collecting items for the sale. Donations of “dressy” clothing and jewelry may be dropped off at BARL’s Adoption Center Wednesday-Sunday, 12-3 p.m. The adoption center is located at 501 North Park Lane Drive. BARL’s mission is to humanely care for shelter animals while contributing to community activities that reduce pet overpopulation, encourage responsible pet ownership, protect public health and safety, and promote the human-animal bond.

BARL is a nonprofit, volunteer-based animal welfare organization serving Copiah, Franklin and Lincoln counties. The rescue league provides food, shelter and veterinary services for homeless animals until they are adopted. 

All BARL animals are vaccinated and spayed/neutered. Dogs are also micro-chipped.
