COVID-19 updates show numbers continue to fall

The Mississippi Department of Heath reported Thursday 370 more cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi, nine deaths and 73 ongoing outbreaks in long-term care facilities. State totals are 790,986 cases, 12,124 deaths, and 1.5 million people fully vaccinated. Three deaths occurred between Jan. 21 and Feb. 23, identified from death certificate reports.
As of Feb. 23, a total of 939,654 COVID-19 deaths have been reported in the United States to the Centers for Disease and Prevention.
Cumulative cases and deaths in Lincoln County and surrounding areas as of March 1 are as follows:

The breakdown of vaccines administered in Lincoln County and in surrounding counties is provisional at this time and is as follows:
Lincoln County – 14,648 residents have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccination, which is 43 percent. There are 13,093 fully vaccinated, which is 38 percent, and 31,613 doses given all together.
Amite County – 4,954 residents have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccination, which is 40 percent. There are 4,607 fully vaccinated, which is 37 percent, and 10,788 doses given all together.
Copiah County – 16,458 residents have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccination, which is 59 percent. There are 14,993 fully vaccinated, which is 53 percent, and 36,053 doses given all together.
Franklin County – 3,994 residents have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccination, which is 52 percent. There are 3,6550 fully vaccinated, which is 47 percent, and 8,651 doses given all together.
Jefferson County – 5,377 residents have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccination, which is 77 percent. There are 4,877 fully vaccinated, which is 70 percent, and 11,866 doses given all together.
Lawrence County – 7,593 residents have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccination, which is 60 percent. There are 6,831 fully vaccinated, which is 54 percent, and 16,765 doses given all together.
Pike County – 21,168 residents have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccination, which is 54 percent. There are 19,174 fully vaccinated, which is 49 percent, and 46,131 doses given all together.
Walthall County – 6,122 residents have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccination, which is 43 percent. There are 5,683 fully vaccinated, which is 39 percent, and 13,259 doses given all together.
