Happy to share good news

We are always happy to see, hear and share good news.

Here is a snapshot of some of the good news we have shared recently.

The Fielder’s Pro Shop Goin’ to Town Car Show brought in a record number of participants this year, with 301 vehicles entered. Attendees enjoyed examining the cars and trucks on display from owners as far away as Florida, Texas, Georgia and Tennessee. More than 300 people won door prizes, and a long black Cadillac built in 1959 won Best of Show.

High school athletes from Brookhaven Academy took part in the MAIS All-Star basketball and soccer games. Loyd Star softball got a 5-0 start to its season. In baseball, BA got a 13-0 blowout win over Simpson Academy; Brookhaven High got three wins at the Trey Altick Prep Classic. Enterprise got a 3-1 victory over North Pike, and Wesson beat Tylertown 13-7.

Three Brookhaven teenagers served as pages in the Mississippi Senate, learning about government processes — Brady Durr of Brookhaven Academy, Violet Belk of Brookhaven High and Emme Barrett of Brookhaven Academy.

The Brookhaven Exchange Club Spring Fling opened for three nights, though rain and some electrical problems hindered some of the fun. But the good news is the Spring Fling will be open again this Friday and Saturday 5:30-8 p.m. So there are two more opportunities to enjoy the rides, games and food.

With reports of crime, war and other negative events, it’s always nice to hear some good news. We are always happy to report it.
