Hog producers will now be required to submit documentation to support their Spot Market Hog Pandemic Program applications.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has clarified the definition of a spot market sale and hog eligibility under the SMHPP, which assists producers who sold hogs through spot market sale from April 16, 2020, to Sept. 1, 2020. H

The Farm Service Agency will accept applications through April 29, 2022 — an extension of the original April 15 deadline.
