As of Wednesday, at least five tornados were confirmed to have occurred in Mississippi on Tuesday, April 5.

More surveys by the National Weather Service are underway. No injuries were reported to the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency.

These counties report some type of damage ranging from affected to destroyed.

• Jefferson Davis
• Lauderdale
• Newton
• Wayne

This week, MEMA will be requesting FEMA to conduct joint damage assessments for Individual Assistance for the March 22 and March 30 severe weather events. At this time, federal assistance is NOT available. MEMA is in the process of collecting and validating data.
