Mrs. Alexander, 83, of Bogue Chitto, MS, passed from this life on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at King’s Daughters Medical Center under the care of Hospice Ministries. She was born on November 20, 1938, in Jayess, MS, to Sandy Bickham Brumfield and Mildred Seab Brumfield. She was a member of Arlington Baptist Church. Laura Ruth loved the Lord with all her heart and was active in her church till her health started to decline. Mrs. Alexander worked at Kellwood Company for 31 years as an inspector. She was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

She played professional basketball with the Arkansas Travelers (1957-1958) before she graduated. She came back and finished high school and the family was always told she was a great ball player. She loved life, sitting on her porch on warm days and loved her special companion “Bella,” her precious little dog. Laura Ruth will be missed so much.
