6 tornados confirmed in Wednesday’s storms

At least six tornados have been confirmed by the National Weather Service to have occurred in Mississippi Wednesday. Six injuries have also been reported — three in Tippah County, two in Alcorn and one in Clarke.
Twenty-four counties have reported some sort of damage to the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency.
- Winston — 41 homes; three businesses; eight farms
- Jones — 16 homes; two businesses
- Bolivar — five homes; three businesses
- Warren — four homes; one business
- Tunica — four homes
- Marshall — four homes
- Rankin — three homes
- DeSoto — three homes
- Jasper — two homes; one business
- Smith — one home
Counties with unspecified damage were Alcorn, Clarke, George, Humphreys, Lauderdale, Leake, Leflore, Noxubee, Oktibbeha, Quitman, Scott, Sunflower, Tippah and Wilkinson.
Residents who sustained damage to their homes are encouraged to report it using the self-report tool at MSEMA.org. The MEMA Call Center is open today until 5:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 16, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. by calling 800-445-6362.
