Grace Grenn

Grace Eileen Grenn, 84, of McComb, MS received her angel wings on April 28, 2022.

Visitation will be Monday May 2, 2022 from 9 AM until services at 11 AM at Hartman-Jones funeral home of McComb. Dr. Jim Porter and Sis. Connie Felter will officiate and burial will be in the Hollywood Cemetery.

She was born in Chicago, IL on November 17, 1937 to her parents the late Lloyd and Grace Omler Burkhart.

At the age of eight, she moved to St. Augustine, FL. She always loved living in Florida. She graduated from Baldwin High School in Baldwin, FL, where she was Valedictorian of her graduating class and also crowned Homecoming Queen her senior year. Later, she graduated from Jacksonville University and did graduate work at the University of Florida. She taught school in Jacksonville, FL before marrying and moving to McComb, MS, where she also taught school.

In her younger years, Ms. Grenn loved riding her Arabian horse and at one time, she was the North Florida Barrel Racing Champion. She also raced quarter horses. She loved to attend Centenary Methodist Church in McComb, MS, where she taught Sunday School for a number of years. Teaching was her love and she taught school for over 50 years. She also loved to travel throughout all of the United States, Canada, Mexico, the Bahamas and Cuba. She enjoyed being with her family, cooking, sewing, bird watching and planting flowers. She and her late husband, Carl, owned Parkside Bait & Grocery across from Percy Quin State Park.

Ms. Grenn was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Carl E. Grenn; her daughter, Carla Grace Grenn; her parents and grandparents.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Gregory C. Grenn and Alan L. Grenn (Jolie); her six grandchildren, Hayden Grenn, Dakota Henze, Keegan Grenn, Blair Allen, Shelby Westbrook (Alex) and Regan Allen; and her brother, Howard Burkhart (Frances).

She was a loving mother, wife and grandmother, and will dearly be missed by all.
