7:30 a.m. litter cleanup. Volunteers will meet at A.L. Lott Sportsplex to pick up litter in the community. Bags and grabbers will be provided.

Heucks Retreat Alumni Association reunion will be at Heucks Retreat Baptist Church Family Life Center at 10 a.m. A catered lunch will be served at noon. All former students are encouraged to attend and bring pictures, annuals, programs or other memorabilia. Make reservations for Saturday’s meal by call 601-734-6951 or 601-757-6729 by April 25.

The Flynn Family Reunion will begin at 10 a.m. at 590 Halbert Heights Road.

The 11th annual Hog Wild BBQ and Family Festival is going on downtown Brookhaven. Food and other vendors will offer goods and eats, including VFD members selling ribeye plates and pulled pork fries. A People’s Choice Tent will open Saturday from 2 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. For $5 each, members of the public can taste all they want and vote on a People’s Choice winner. Kids’ inflatables will be available 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. for $5 per child, and live music will be performed 1-4 p.m.

Sunday, May 1

New Sight Baptist Church will have HomecomingSunday, with Sunday school beginning at 9 a.m. and worship service at 10 a.m. Message by Bro. Todd Sumrall. Josh Britt will lead music. A covered dish lunch will follow the morning service in the Family Life Center. 

Monday, May 2

The Lincoln County Board of Supervisors will meet at 9 a.m. in the County Board Room of The Lincoln County/Brookhaven Governmental Complex. 

Tuesday, May 3

The Brookhaven Board of Aldermen will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the City Boardroom of The Lincoln County/Brookhaven Governmental Complex. Meetings are streamed live on the city’s Facebook page.

Saturday, May 7

Exchange Club Mothers Day Market will be 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. with free booth spaces (park at your booth). Free train rides for children. Welcome craft arts, vendors, farmers market and garage sales.  Divide Memorial Methodist Protestant Church will host Springfest 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. The church is located 11 miles south of Monticello off Hwy. 27. This will be a full day of fun and fellowship with vendor booths, entertainment, a food court, a bake sale, an auction, door prizes, children’s activities and more!
