Warriors volunteers also decorated Fosters Cabin downtown, and asked citizens to display flags, ribbons or blue lights as a sign of support for law enforcement officers everywhere.
Warriors of the Badge will conduct its second annual 9/11 5K Walk/Run Honoring the Heroes Saturday, Sept. 10, in downtown Brookhaven, beginning at the Military Museum.
Registration is at 8 a.m., followed by a 9/11 program at 8:25 a.m. The Walk/Run will begin at 8:46 a.m., the time the first of the World Trade Center towers was hit.
Entry fee is a donation. All proceeds provide financial assistance to all first responders killed or critically injured in the line of duty.
“Join us as we honor and remember the heroes of 9/11,” Warriors founder Vicki Moak said in a social media post. “343 firefighters paid the ultimate sacrifice that day along with law enforcement, paramedics and civilians. We stand with all first responders!”
