MHP Troop M: 3 fatal wrecks in 3 days

Mississippi Highway Patrol troopers have responded to three fatal crashes in three days in the Troop M area.
Troop M covers nine counties — Lincoln, Lawrence, Walthall, Pike, Franklin, Amite, Jefferson, Wilkinson and Adams
The fatal wrecks occurred in Franklin, Jefferson and Wilkinson counties, Sunday-Tuesday.
Sunday, at approximately 2 p.m., troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Hwy. 61 in Jefferson County.
A 2000 Mercedes ML driven by Jeremy Williams, 35, of Madison, was traveling north on Hwy. 61 when his vehicle left the road and overturned, Troop M Public Affairs Officer Cpl. Craig James said. Williams received fatal injuries from the crash. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
At approximately 8:14 p.m. Monday, MHP responded to a fatal hit-and-run on Hwy. 61 in Wilkinson County involving a pedestrian.
A vehicle was traveling north on Hwy. 61 when it collided with Herman Lee Davis, 69, of Woodville, and left the scene. Davis received fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The vehicle that left the scene is believed to be a 2003 to 2007 Lincoln Navigator, Ford Expedition, or Ford F-150, missing the mirror on the right side.
On Tuesday, at approximately 7:47 a.m., a 2014 Honda Accord driven by 17-year-old Brooklynn Cupit, of Meadville, was traveling east on Hwy. 84 when she attempted to cross the westbound lanes and collided with an 18-wheeler. The truck was a 2007 Peterbilt driven by 65-year-old Richard Reeves, of Bogue Chitto, who had been traveling west on Hwy. 84.
Reeves received fatal injuries from the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
All three crashes remain under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
