Even as cooling temperatures tease the arrival of fall, one Magnolia man felt things heat up when he won thousands of dollars recently in the Mississippi lottery.

The man won $7,600 in the Sunday, Sept. 11, Cash 4 midday drawing, on two tickets.

The winning tickets were sold at the Crossway Stop Exxon at the intersection of Hwy. 51 and Hwy. 84 in Brookhaven. A Brookhaven woman won $830 on a Mississippi Match 5 ticket with Multiplier sold at the same retailer in January.

The man picked the numbers 5873, but declined the Fireball option.

The Cash4 games have two drawings a day, with a chance to win up to $5,000 each time with the Fireball option.

Winners in Mississippi’s lottery remain anonymous, unless they choose to reveal their winnings to the public.
