Harper Walters of Loyd Star Attendance Center has been selected as the August Youth of the Month by the Exchange Club of Brookhaven.

Harper is a sixth grader and an honor roll student. She is a Nena Smith dancer and takes horseback riding lessons at L&B Ranch in Pelahatchie. She was fifth-grade Student of the Year. She is active in Heucks Retreat Baptist Church G.A.s, and is the daughter of John and Mary Smith and Ronnie and Alex Walters.
