The Elisha and Mallisa Wallace 60th family reunion was held at Bethel Baptist Church on Sept. 4, 2022 in Bogue Chitto. This was the first reunion in three years due to COVID. Door prizes, food, fellowship and worship were shared by 71 people in the Wallace Clan.
The Wallaces were some of the first families to settle in Bogue Chitto in the 1800s. Elisha and Mallisa Wallace gave birth to 13 children and they had 104 grandchildren. To-date, the five generations of Wallaces have yielded 1,358 descendants, about three times the population of Bogue Chitto. The family reunion is traditionally held on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend.
