The last several years, she faithfully attended Montgomery Baptist Church, where she was an active member of her Sunday school class.
As matriarch of a close-knit family, she loved being active in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. A featured cook in The Daily Leader, she was well-known for her culinary skills, always getting requests for her chicken pie, chocolate pie, and egg custard pie. She enjoyed keeping a large garden every year, so fresh vegetables would be plentiful.
