JACKSON — Football season is just past the halfway point and all-star rosters were named by the Mississippi Association of Coaches Wednesday morning. 

The Bernard Blackwell Classic All-Star Football, held Dec. 17 at Gulfport’s Milner Stadium, features defensive backs Douglas Nelson and Sentario Willis of Hazlehurst and Lawrence County’s defensive lineman Jonathan Davis. Hazlehursts coach Damien Gary will be an assistant coach in the game. The area players and coach are on the South team. 

Amari Smith of Brookhaven will play offensive line for the Mississippi team in the Mississippi-Alabama All Star Football Showcase played on Dec. 10 at South Alabama’s stadium.
