DKG makes donations, honors 2022 Woman of Distinction

Delta Kappa Gamma International Theta Chapter members Nancy Sullivan and Pam McLemore delivered baskets of classroom supplies to first-year teachers in the area as a show of support and encouragement.

Chapter members contributed books to be given to families of newborns at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven. The annual Ferst Readers project promotes literacy and the love of reading in young children.

The December meeting of DKG Theta Chapter was at the home of Jean Ricks in Wesson, on Dec. 5. Guests enjoyed festive decorations and finger foods. DKG State President Janice Garrett spoke to the group about increasing membership. Theta Chapter President Nancy Sullivan announced the 2022 recipient of the Woman of Distinction Award, Polly White. White retired in May 2022 after serving as an elementary teacher in grades K-4 for 33 years. She has served in various DKG positions, including nominations, communications, legislative and second vice president. Since retirement, White has joined the faculty at By Faith Academy in Brookhaven  where she continues to inspire and shape the lives of her students.
