Funeral services for Cecil B. Rhodes will be on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at First Baptist Church (200 E. Monticello Street) in Brookhaven, MS, at 11:00 AM with burial to follow in the Easthaven Cemetery. Bro. Greg Warnock will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be at First Baptist Church on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, from 9:00 until 11:00 AM.

Mr. Rhodes, 102, of Brookhaven, MS, passed from this life on Sunday, January 1, 2023, at the Aspen of Brookhaven. He was born on September 6, 1920, in Neshoba County, MS, to Ben and Cola Breland Rhodes. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Brookhaven for 73 years, where he served as a Deacon and a Sunday School teacher; worked for many years as a sanitarian with the Mississippi State Board of Health; and enjoyed gardening and hunting. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Olivia Chaney Rhodes; brothers, Hayes Rhodes, Reid Rhodes, and Walter Franklin (Mutt) Rhodes; and sister, Selma Rushing.

Survivors are his daughter, Sheila Turnage; son, Byron Rhodes; sisters, Lee Pendergrass and Zula Shackelford; grandchildren, Matthew Turnage (Taylor), Terri Irons (Ty), and Marc Turnage (Lora); great-grandchildren, Cecilia, William, Drew, Meredith, Jackson, and Bailey; and a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers are Matthew Turnage, Marc Turnage, Ty Irons, Drew Irons, Jackson Turnage, Richard Rushing, and William Turnage.
