BROOKHAVEN — National Weather Service office in Jackson forecasts severe weather to hit Lincoln County Thursday. Brookhaven is under a marginal risk for isolated severe storms, damaging wind gusts and hail up to a quarter in size. Tornadoes can not be ruled out as the conditions could produce one.

The threat is from 8a.m. to 1p.m. Thursday. Fortunately, Brookhaven is not in the threat area for strong wind gusts. NWS Jackson reports the wind gusts will pose a threat to central Mississippi with speeds as high as 30 to 40 mph. Wednesday is forecast to have patches of drizzling rain, a high of 73 and a low of 60.
