NWS Jackson upgrades Lincoln County to slight risk for severe weather

BROOKHAVEN — Severe Weather should roll its way through Southwest Mississippi Wednesday afternoon into Thursday morning according to a National Weather Service Jackson Office forecast. Lincoln County will likely see storms from Wednesday at 9 p.m. to Thursday at 4 a.m.

Severe storms are possible for the area and tornadoes will also be possible. Damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph could hit the region and hail up to a quarter in size could fall. Strong winds could threaten the western half of SW Mississippi with sustained speeds at 20 to 25 mph and gusts up to 30 to 40 mph. Lincoln County is not included in the strong wind warning but could see strong winds.
