Hundreds of families will continue to be helped with food security due to donations from local groups and individuals. Four food pantries were the recipients of generous gifts given through The Daily Leader and Bank of Brookhaven during The 2022 Holiday Food Pantry Drive. Checks for $1,200 each were presented to Mt. Zion Food Pantry, Bethel AME, St. Francis of Assisi/St. Vincent de Paul and The Greater Hope Foundation.
This was the 19th annual Holiday Food Pantry Drive. Tens of thousands of dollars have been raised and distributed to various food pantry organizations in the Brookhaven area. The need for food increases during the holidays. Many families rely upon food pantries to provide for emergency food needs during the Christmas holiday break. But these ministries are also relied upon weekly throughout the year.
Every donation helps put food on a hungry person’s plate and lets them know someone else really does care.
