Severe weather possible Tuesday afternoon

BROOKHAVEN — Just when you thought the last storm had blown through another one pops up. Mississippi will see a cool front this weekend as temperatures drop from 70 degrees down to 55 and lower and a storm will follow right on its heels.

NWS Jackson is forecasting severe weather to occur Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning. This storm is several days away so people should stay weather aware and check back here for updates. Tornadoes and severe storms could hit Lincoln County, the top half is at a slight risk while the bottom half is at marginal risk.

Tuesday has a 90 percent chance of rain with wind speeds blowing between 15 to 20 mph. Gusts of wind could hit near 30 mph Tuesday. The high will be 64 with a low around 38. It will be windy, the NWS Jackson office forecasts.
