BROOKHAVEN —  Lincoln County has received 4.32 inches of rainfall in the past 24 hours. All of this rainfall has filled local creeks, bayous and rivers and more rain is expected to come.

Flash flooding continues to be a threat this week with the NWS Jackson Office issuing an advisory of flash flooding for Thursday with 2-3 inches of rain expected in some areas and minor river flooding will continue.

NWS Jackson asks people to turn around and not drown when they encounter flooded road ways. Water could washout the road and sweep vehicles off of the road way. Be careful when driving into work this morning with patchy fog being another weather risk.
