Wesson Attendance Center recently inducted three senior students into its Class of 2023 Hall of Fame. They were Will Loy, Taylor Papizan and Orrin Ainsworth.
Each year, Wesson’s Hall of Fame inductees account for 5 percent of the senior class, and are voted on by secondary faculty and staff based on four attributes — academics, leadership, character and school participation/involvement. Induction into the Hall is the most prestigious honor that can be bestowed on a member of the senior class.
The three inductees were honored at a reception Wednesday morning. Family and close friends were invited to recognize and celebrate their achievement.
Will Loy is the son of Jeremy and Sarah Loy. He was chosen as Star Student, and is a member of Beta Club and on the honor roll. Loy was chosen by the students and staff as Mr. Wesson High School, and as Most Athletic in Senior Who’s Who. He is a member of the football, baseball and golf teams. Loy’s academic and athletic accolades throughout his high school career are astounding, according to Wesson teacher Lisa Earls.
Taylor Papizan is the daughter of Ken and Terri Papizan. She is an honor roll student and Beta Club member. Papizan is a member of the cheer and soccer teams, and the Cobra Band. She serves as Senior Class vice president, a senior class representative on the Student Council and senior editor on the yearbook staff. Papizan was 2022-2023 Homecoming Queen and selected by her classmates as Most Likely to Succeed in Senior Who’s Who. Papizan has also received many academic, athletic and band awards throughout her high school career, Earls said.
Orrin Ainsworth is the son of Chad and Keli Ainsworth. He is a member of the football and robotics teams, and the Cobra Band. Ainsworth serves as Senior Class president and president of the Student Council Organization. He was chosen by his classmates as Most Dependable in Senior Who’s Who, and received the DAR Good Citizenship Award. Ainsworth has also received many academic, athletic and band awards throughout her high school career, Earls said.
