BROOKHAVEN — Happy St. Patrick’s Day, you might be celebrating the luck of the Irish with a wet, rainy day.

Severe Storms are expected to arrive in Lincoln County Friday morning bringing along damaging wind gusts and rain. NWS Jackson forecasts the storm to move from the west over night and into the area between daybreak and the early afternoon.

Showers are forecast for Friday with a 100 percent chance of rain. New precipitation amounts are forecast to be between an inch to two inches. Temperatures will likely fall to 48 degrees by 5 p.m. Expect south by southwest wind blowing around 10 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

Friday night will have a low of 37 and a northern wind around 10 mph. The gusts could reach 25 mph.

Sunrise is at 7:10 a.m. and Sunset is at 7:11 p.m.
