BROOKHAVEN — April showers dumped 3.5 inches of rain in the past 24 hours and more is expected for Lincoln County area and the surrounding area into Saturday. National Weather Service in Jackson warns this rainfall could cause flash flooding in low lying and urban areas in addition to small river, creeks and bayou flooding.
Tonight has a 90 percent chance of rain with Saturday having a 50 percent chance of rain. Turkey hunters should be dry on Sunday as the day looks to be clear of rain.
NWS Jackson warns one to three inches of rain could fall in a short period of time over the next 24 hours. Remember if you encounter a flooded roadway to turn around and not drown.
