ZETUS — A structure fire in Lincoln County was not part of a drill Thursday evening. Firefighters with the Zetus Volunteer Fire Department were finishing up a training session when they got the call and sprang into action.

Engines raced to the structure fire on Zetus Road. The home was “heavily involved,” according to Zetus VFD  when firemen arrived on scene. Tongues of flame licked at the wood as they set to work to save the home.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire to two front rooms of the house and saved the rest of the property.

“We thank you for your continued support of your local volunteer fire department,” the department wrote in a statement.

Zetus Volunteer Fire Department was started in 1987.
