BROOKHAVEN — The National Weather Service in  Jackson warns of possible severe weather this afternoon. Lincoln County’s chance of precipitation is 60 percent today.

Damaging wind gusts and hail up to a quarter in size are the major concerns for Thursday afternoon. Storms could roll through between 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The high today is 92 with a heat index of 99. It could be a good week to get any last minute planting done before dove season in September. From Friday to next Wednesday at least a 50 percent chance of precipitation is possible.
