TUPELO — Southwest Mississippi is home to the 2023 Miss Spirit of Mississippi. Monticello native Addie Carver was crowned with the title Friday night.

Miss Spirit of Mississippi is an annual pageant sponsored by the Miss Mississippi Volunteer pageant system. Carver competed in interview, active wear and fitness and evening gown as Miss Spirit of Southwest Mississippi.

Her victory in the pageant earned more than a crown or title. Carver secured a prize package valued at $7,000. She will go on to compete in Miss Mississippi Teen USA. Carver previously finished as runner up in the Miss Mississippi Teen USA pageant in April.

Carver is the daughter of Kristi and Dwayne Carney and the late Chuck Carver.
