BROOKHAVEN — It appears Lincoln County dodged a bullet yesterday as the chance of precipitation dropped from 70 percent to 20 and will soon fade away to no chance Saturday. Winston County was not as lucky with flash flooding washing out sections of roads after heavy rainfall.

Weather is unpredictable with summer thunderstorms but one thing is for sure, it will be hot and humid.

NWS Jackson forecasts a partly cloudy evening with the low dropping down to 76. Saturday will be Mostly sunny with a high of 96 and the heat index hitting 102. A west wind will whip around 10 mph
