HAZLEHURST — U.S. Marshalls Service and Copiah County Sheriff Office asks residents to stay vigilant while a fugitive is on the run. Phillip Jamison, a white male approximately 40 years old, is considered armed and dangerous and was last seen in Copiah County.

He is originally from Louisiana and is wanted for attempted murder. Copiah County Sheriff’s Office asks residents to take precautions at this time. As of Friday morning, the fugitive had remained on the run according to Copiah County Sheriff’s Office.

“Please be vigilant in locking your doors and taking extra precautions when answering a knock at the door,” Copiah County Sheriff Office wrote in a release Thursday.  “Also, any ATVs or any mode of transportation that you may have, make sure to remove the keys. If you should know the whereabouts of this individual, please call 911 or the Sheriff’s Office at 601-894-3011 immediately.”
